Zori and the First Ray of Courage
In a nest hidden at the edge of the sky, Zori woke before the forest opened its eyes. He was a phoenix chick with feathers shaped like gentle flames, wide eyes and a fan-shaped tail. Each morning he was born anew with the light, keeping the first ray of sunrise beneath his wing.
Zori believed a firebird should be able to fly all the way to the sun. He tried to lift off from the stone beside his nest, fluttered his wings and always landed in the soft grass. At night he tucked away his crest, certain the day had been wasted.
One foggy morning, he heard a little bird who could no longer find the way to its nest. Zori could not fly above the trees, but he knew the path. He opened his wing, let his treasured ray light a few steps ahead and walked his new friend home. For the first time, he did not wonder how high he had flown.
He understood that a small beginning could change someone’s whole day. The next morning he kept learning to fly, but no longer waited to grow big before doing something kind.
Zori – The Phoenix Chick carries a story of hope and the courage to try again. With folded wings and a curious gaze, he is a little symbol of fresh starts: every morning offers another step, even before you know how to fly.
