Pano and the Photograph on the First Page

Pano lived on the shelf of a little workshop, among worn photo albums and envelopes filled with pictures. He was a living camera, always listening to the stories of people who stepped inside. His favourite images were the ones that made someone pause and ask, “Do you remember?”

One evening, a family came to choose a photograph for an anniversary album. They spread portraits across the table: neat clothes, lovely lighting and carefully prepared smiles. At the bottom of an envelope lay a slightly blurred picture of a leaning cake, flour on the table and the whole family laughing. Nobody had stayed still for that one.

Pano nudged the photograph towards the centre of the table. Suddenly, everyone began telling a different part of the story: who had dropped the spoon, who had tried to rescue the cake, who had laughed first. The workshop filled with the voices of that day, and the photograph found its place on the very first page.

From then on, Pano made himself a promise: to seek moments that bring people closer. In his collection, a hurried hug or an ordinary afternoon could take pride of place. Every memory had room for its own story.
