The Story
Bobi woke one morning while the garden still slept beneath dry leaves. He was so small that a dewdrop looked like a lake, and the wind beyond the fence sounded like an unknown sea. He wished he could stay hidden a little longer, but then he heard a tiny voice among the roots.
Beside him, a blade of grass was trying to reach the light. A fallen leaf blocked its way. Bobi pushed once, then again. He moved it only a little, just enough to let a sunbeam through. The blade of grass slowly stood taller.
“I thought I had to be big before I could help,” Bobi said.
“You were big enough for me today,” his green neighbour replied.
The next day, Bobi ventured a little further. Each morning brought a new place and a friend who needed encouragement. By the time spring arrived, the garden was full of buds, and Bobi no longer waited for his fear to disappear before setting out.
Ever since, the little plant spirit has reminded everyone that a small first step can come before you feel ready.
