The Hidden Path
When the wind buried the path and the village lights began to fade, Neris set out towards the forest’s edge. Beyond the last houses, the road disappeared beneath the snow. He was afraid, but knew someone had to lead the way.
The First Step
Neris took one step, then another. He could not see the whole path, only the place where his next footstep would fall. Behind him, the others began to move forward, following the tracks he left in the snow.
